These stories are becoming all too familiar. Innocent children murdered at the hands of a
parent. What really bothers me about reading these
horrific stories is that they could have been avoided. It’s time to change this conversation and at
least start a new debate. And that
debate is sterilization. Now before you
scoff, and think this is too radical, hear me out. First take the time to read the article I linked
about the mother who killed her 9 and 13 year olds and then forced their
sibling to put them in a freezer. This
was a 35 year old who had 4 kids from multiple fathers who owed thousands in
child support. Her first two kids had
been abused and she was on welfare, so it should have been obvious this woman
was unfit to be a mother. So why is she
allowed to have more kids? Or why is it
a man, sorry male, can father a child he has no intention of taking care of and
then go out and have 2, 3, 7 more kids? Locking
them up is pointless. Cutting welfare only hurts the kids so why not stop it in the first place. Statistics show
these kids will struggle in school, become antisocial and most likely make the
same mistakes as their parents. So why
can’t we at least have this debate. Is
it that Taboo? The moral question we
should all ask, is how many more innocent children will suffer? It’s time to move the conversation forward and end this vicious cycle.
