Capitalism Vetoes Religion
"Slaves obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling." "Tell slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect." These were quotes taken from the bible (Ephesians 6:5, and Titus 2:9) that were used to justify the owning of other people in the 19th century. I wonder what verses the senators from Arizona used to justify a bill - just vetoed by the governor - that would allows businesses to discriminate against a gay person. Leviticus anyone? I'm sure the people opposed to this bill could easily quote me the bible for their reasons why they were against it. Jesus never once mentions homosexuality. Surely he wouldn't tell you to take a hike if you were gay. People will just say you're interpreting it wrong or that's not the real meaning. My point is that you can use the 'good book' for any position you want. Even the position I take that's it's completely man made.
The reason for vetoing the ridiculously dubbed "religious freedom" bill, was that it would hurt the business climate in the already business friendly state of Arizona. So why the bill in the first place? Supporters of the bill came up with a whopping ZERO examples of religious freedom being threatened. Nothing but ridiculous hypotheticals. This is a case of the Religious Right losing the culture battle in this country. They believe the 'family' is under attack with zero evidence to support their claim. The truth is they can not accept the reality that they're out of touch with their arcane views of damnation and are becoming completely irrelevant in the 21rst century. Eventually they have to come to the conclusion they will loose this battle and eventually the war.

All Coked out
Anyone hear about the outrage over the Coke Superbowl commercial. Didn't think so. Anyway the Native Americans were outraged they had a commercial with a plethora of diversity. How dare they show Latinos, blacks, Muslims, Jews, even a gay couple holding hands. what heathens! Don't even get us started on the cowboys. And to have 'our' song translated into languages that are not 'native' to us. This is unacceptable. This land was hand crafted for us by Tabaldak. Who is this god they keep referring to. And their skin color, and dress, and dance. WTF! What is this land coming to. Everything is changing so fast and we don't know what to do. Time to stock up on bow and arrows and face paint. Can't trust these folks not to break into my tent at night. And don't they know they're taking all our work from us. I haven't carved a totem in 8 months. Let us unite and declare a boycott on this all natural - mostly high fructose corn syrup - beverage.
